Anambra State, youth vigilantes in Ogbaru have arrested five individuals who were aiding secessionist elements in attacking communities within the local government area.
The youths of Ogbaru organized themselves to apprehend some of the perpetrators of crime in the area.
Ogbaru has been engulfed in violence due to oil mining activities, and Biafra secessionists have been invading and damaging properties.
Recently, there have been attacks on police stations, the local government secretariat, and even UN officials who visited the area.
One of the perpetrators, identified as Eselu, has been described as hardened and is believed to be responsible for many of the attacks, including inviting bandits posing as freedom fighters to the local government for assaults.
As of the time of this report, no statement has been issued by the state police command.
