Trouble brews in Oraifite Community as allegations surface against Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor, the lawyer representing the detained leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The community in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State accuses Ejiofor of aiding gunmen activities in the state and the wider South East region.

The accusations gained momentum following the recent kidnapping and tragic killing of a 38-year-old youth leader who stood up for truth amidst a dispute between Ejiofor and Chief Sir Emeka Ofor, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).

The community alleges that Ejiofor utilizes an organization called “Otueke” as a front for kidnapping, violence, and intimidation against community members, including Chief Sir Emeka Ofor, who they consider a savior to their community.

During a press conference held at the Oraifite Civil Centre on Sunday, February 4th, 2024, Chief Vincent Dike, the President General of the community, expressed their concerns and fears.

“We have called this press conference to shed light on the activities of Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor towards his own people and the man who played a significant role in his success in society,” Chief Vincent Dike stated.

He further revealed that Ejiofor was a beneficiary of Sir Emeka Ofor’s benevolence, having been supported by him throughout his education from secondary school to university.

“However, today, Ejiofor has turned against his benefactor, making him his greatest enemy in this world. Not only that, he has extended his animosity towards the entire community that nurtured and protected him. He employs the services of ‘Otueke,’ an organization filled with individuals who engage in criminal activities,” Chief Vincent Dike added.

The Oraifite Community now lives in fear as they call for a thorough investigation into the alleged activities of Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor and the organization known as ‘Otueke.'”
