Soludo’s Wife Celebrates Children’s Day With Orphanage, Prepares Lunch For Children And Games

Sharing is caring

The Anambra State First Lady, Mr Nonye Soludo and The Founder of the Non-governmental Crusade, Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, has shared time with children at the Model Community Children’s Home, Awka, in commemoration of this year’s Children’s Day celebration.

The governor’s wife also prepared lunch for the children and joined them in different activities that were put up to mark the event, which is taking place tomorrow, May 27, 2024.

Recall that Mrs Soludo made a similar gesture to the home during last year’s Children’s Day celebration.

Speaking shortly after cooking and dining with the children, the Anambra governor’s wife explained that hers was to keep providing shoulders for the kids and give them the needed motherly closure to dream high and succeed.

She noted that children deserve the best always, pointing out that her regular visits to the home were to ensure that the children were well taken care of.

Mrs Soludo also explained that she has a primary responsibility to cater to the children and help them to become better persons and reach the height of their dreams in life.

The governor’s wife further stated that her motivation for preparing the lunch herself was to be the right image of a mother who values and celebrates her children.

She also talked about showing love to children and giving them the protection, closure, and platforms to live and thrive without social, economic, and cultural barriers.

On her part, the caretaker of the home, Reverend Sister Philomena Akuchukwu, said that the governor’s wife has continued to give the home all the support it needs and has always been there for the children who have taken her as their own mother.

She described Mrs Soludo’s insistence to cook for the home herself as the height of humility and motherly compassion, which should be emulated by every woman.
