Prof Chukwuma Soludo, Anambra State Governor, has commiserated with entire Nnebe family of Umuokpu Village Awka over the passing of Rt. Hon. Anayo Nnebe, a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly,who died on Wednesday 24th January 2024 in Awka.
The Governor who was represented by The Deputy Governor, Dr Ibezim, visited the family of the departed lawmaker in Umuokpu Village Awka and condoled with the Wife, Mrs. Nnebe and other family members present.
He signed the condolence register, and noted that the late Speaker distinguished himself as a key soldier for democracy and was widely admired as a humble, accessible grassroot political leader who relentlessly championed the interests of his people.
“Ichele Awka, served the State, Awka North and south and its people diligently and devoted his life to uplifting common good,” the Governor noted.
He added, that in his capacity, he is equally identifying with the entire Nnebe families over the loss, explaining that Late Rt. Hon Nnebe was his blossom friend in so many ramifications.
Ibezim, prayed for the repose of the soul of the departed Nnebe and fortitude on the part of entire family, friends, admirers and the people of the state in bearing the loss.
Mr. Ossy Onuko MD Awka Capital Territory Development Authority, Prince Azubuike Iloh a former City Mayor Awka South were some of the dignitaries who accompanied The Deputy Governor to commiserate with Nnebe family over the demise of Rt. Hon. Nnebe families.
