Governor Abiodun has introduced the emblem for the year 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance, symbolising the utmost dedication to the welfare of both active and retired Legionnaires.
As a testament to his commitment, his administration has generously donated a sum of ₦10 million to this revered body.
He asked that while the good people of Nigeria commemorates the remarkable occasion of Armed Forces Remembrance Day, let us not forget the families of these courageous heroes.
His speech reads, “They have bravely weathered countless tears and endured immeasurable heartaches, remaining unwavering in their unwavering support for their beloved soldiers.
It is our solemn duty to continue providing unwavering support and care for these families, ensuring they are never forgotten and bestowed with the indispensable assistance and opportunities to lead prosperous lives.
In light of this responsibility, the welfare and wellbeing of our dedicated serving and retired personnel will be our foremost priority. We owe it to these brave men and women to ensure their needs are met, both during their service and as they transition seamlessly back into civilian life.
I express my deepest gratitude to the Nigerian Armed Forces for their unwavering commitment and selflessness in safeguarding our peace and unity against various threats. With their remarkable efforts, we have successfully maintained stability and guaranteed the safety of our cherished citizens”.
