The Governor of Edo State, delightedly announced that he has finally been able to secure financing for the reconstruction of the Benin-Asaba Expressway to the tune of N228 billion.
He noted that he achieved this by entering into a concession with Infrastructure Corporation of Nigeria (InfraCorp) and AAA Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (Triple A Infrastructure).
He said that having initiated this project, he implores the concessionaires to expedite and finalize work on the road so that the groans of Edo people enduring that route will become a thing of the past.
He commended the Federal Ministry of Works for granting the concession for the road, and further stated that he hopes that they will urgently consider terminating the Benin-Auchi Road contract and putting it up for concession.
He finalized by stating that the Edo State Government will support this initiative because it is the way forward.
