The Nkpor vigilante group has captured some group of men suspected of indulging in highway theft and kidnapping along the Nkpor Onitsha axis.
One Mrs Nele Nneka who is a POS operator business woman on her way home after daily business on Saturday at about 8pm fell victim to the hoodlums when she could not find her regular transportation(keke) and opted to join a bus while going to Onitsha.
The hoodlums which consist of 4 people, 3men and 1woman, took off from the park and dropped off the woman at People’s Club bus stop. Meanwhile, they stopped more passengers from boarding the vehicle which Mrs Nneka questioned but was ignored as the bus zoomed off.
Mrs Nneka said;
“One of the men in the pretence of closing the window claiming that arm robbers might invade the moving vehicle after she refused to close it herself, dipped his hands inside the sack bag containing her belongings and brought out her white charger cord”
“He snatched the sack bag containing Five Hundred Three Thousand(N503,000) cash, power bank, pos machine, 2 Tissues and hangers.
After collecting her belongings, they opted to push her out the moving vehicle but she pleaded and told them that she is pregnat, meanwhile holding tightly to the man intending to push her down.
She said, while struggling with them, she keenly looked at them, taking notes of their faces and details of the bus, she was threatened to stop looking or they shoot, but has noted them already. Luckily she was pushed off the bus at a filling station after breaking a bit around seaman.
In the morning, she and her husband, came to the Nkpor park and started searching for the bus because she has details of the bus and the couple alerted some people at the park too, who help out in the search.
She spotted the bus at Pillar fuel station and called her husband attention and the public notified the vigilante group that arrested the culprits.
