Nawfia Progressive Union Condemns The Gruesome Killings On Their Lands And Urges Law Enforcement Agencies To Prosecute The Culprits

Sharing is caring

Nawfia Community and its leaders are shocked and appalled at the executioner-style killings that occurred on their communal lands.

‘Nawfia’ fully condemns this senseless act of violence and vouch to do all in their power to make sure that those involved pay the price for their crimes.

“We ask that all the relative law enforcement agencies and security outfits do everything within their power to arrest the perpetrators and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Failure to do so in a timely manner may lead to the breakdown of law and order.

“We commiserate with Ndi Enugwu-Ukwu on the loss of their indigenes. The souls of the departed will be in our thoughts and prayers. There was absolutely no need for lives to be lost in this situation.

“Our attention has been raised to a publication by Chief Uche Nworah PhD. (Ezeudo Enugwu-Ukwu) that alleges that the killers were “sponsored by unknown individuals from Nawfia”. We are highly disappointed in this statement, as no evidence has been presented to support this theory. We ask that all citizens of both Enugwu-Ukwu and Nawfia desist from such inflammatory comments. Such utterances only aid in heating up the polity.

“The investigation just began, and law enforcement agencies are yet to release any official information. Besides, video evidence and accounts made so far by survivors of the horrific ordeal have opened up other possibilities as to the motives of the animals that did this.

“The killings may be cult related or a business gone wrong. No explanation has been eliminated yet. All parties involved should avoid jumping to conclusions until a thorough investigation is conducted.

“Enugwu-Ukwu and Nawfia are, and will always be brothers. “Nwa Nri” does not spill thier brother’s/sister’s blood…IT IS AN ABOMINATION! Moreover, this unfortunate incident by some selfish and wicked individuals can never destroy the ancestral link between the two towns.
