Governor Otti has presented the 2024 budget proposal to the Abia State House of Assembly. The budget, which is themed “A New Beginning”, reflects his vision and commitment to rebuild and restore Abia state to its rightful place of glory.

According to his proposal, the budget is designed to stimulate the economy, create jobs, improve infrastructure, enhance security, promote education, health, agriculture, and other key sectors that are vital for the well-being and prosperity of our people.

The budget is also a testament to the cordial and productive relationship that exists between the executive, legislative, and judicial arms of government in our state.

He notably appreciated the support and cooperation of the Honourable Speaker and Members of the House of Assembly, as well as the Chief Judge and other judicial officers, in ensuring that we deliver on our promises to the people.

His speech reads, “In the last six months, we have made remarkable progress in various areas, despite the challenges and constraints we inherited from the previous administration. We have cleared the heaps of refuse that littered our streets, we have rehabilitated and commissioned several roads that were in a state of disrepair, we have engaged Julius Berger to reconstruct the long-abandoned Port Harcourt Road in Aba, and we have initiated and executed many other projects and programmes that are impacting positively on the lives of our people.

We are not resting on our oars. We are determined to do more and make a clear difference in every aspect of governance and service delivery. We are confident that with the support and prayers of our people, and the grace of God, we will achieve our goals and make Abia a model state in Nigeria.

Thank you for your trust and confidence in our administration. Together, we will make Abia great again”, he concluded.
