Coalition Of Nigerian Youths On Security And Safety Affairs Mourns Chief Iwuanyanwu And Senator Ubah

The Coalition of Nigerian Youths on Security and Safety Affairs(CONYSSA), South East Zone has mourned the passing away of two prominent sons, from the South East, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu and Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.

In a press briefing by the South East Coordinator, Amb. Chibuzor Ekwenye, he said the sad events that took place in the past week was really painful and unfortunate too.

He noted that, the group mourn the passing away of our prominent sons and their death were very heavy blow to Ndi Igbo. He prayed for the repose of their souls.

Amb. Ekwenye stated that leaders of CONYSSA Southeast Zone gathered to critically and holistically look into the security situation in the southeast and to also take a decision concerning the recent calls for a “National Protest” in Nigeria.

Continuing, He said that, leaders also deliberated on the economic situation in the southeast, as well as the development/underdevelopment strides of the various states in the southeast and after much deliberations, much soul-searching and introspection, plenty permutations and deductions. They were able to resolved as follows:

1: The Southeast Zone will not take part in the planned protest.
2: The security situation in the southeast is assuming a very dangerous trend. As such, all well meaning sons and daughters of Igbo land should/must join hands together to fight against this cancerous monster.
3: CONYSSA will do whatever is possible, as long as it’s lawful, to assist the various security apparatus in the Zone to fight against insecurity in the Zone.

4: CONYSSA will organize an all inclusive Security Summit as soon as possible to come up with potent ideas to reclaim our Zone from criminals.
5: We deduced that many of these criminal elements hide under the guise of IPOB and freedom fighters to cause mayhem in the zone. We therefore plead passionately with the President, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu to use his presidential fiat to release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as soon as possible. This will go a long way to curbing or reducing the spare of insecurity and criminality in the Zone.

6: We decry the infrastructural decay in the southeast zone. We therefore charge our governors to sit-up and discharge their duties diligently. We also plead with the federal government to urgently declare a state of emergency on the federal roads in the southeast.

7: We applaud Mr President, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for giving assent to the establishment of Southeast development commission. We also plead with the President and the National Assembly to urgently see to the creation of an additional state in the southeast for equity and justice to prevail in the country.

These were the summary of their meeting.

He added that, they will begin a serious consultation with everyone necessary to ensure that these resolutions are not swept under the carpet.
The date for the security summit will be revealed soon.
