CAN Instructs Lord’s Chosen Leadership To Screen Testimonies Before Public Presentation

Sharing is caring

The Lagos State branch of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has directed the leadership of Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries to carefully vet testimonies shared by its members during services.

This follows a controversial testimony that went viral recently, where a church member claimed that an elderly man appeared to her during an examination, providing answers to questions, which she then passed on to another candidate from the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

Bishop Stephen Adegbite, the Lagos CAN Chairman, condemned the testimony, calling it a “complete fabrication” and announced that the association had summoned the church leadership for a meeting to address the issue.

In an interview with some media outfits, Adegbite confirmed that a meeting took place at the CAN secretariat in Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

He stated that church representatives were present and were advised to implement stricter guidelines for testimonies shared at gatherings. “Only someone not in their right mind would believe otherwise,” he remarked.

He further noted that the meeting was attended by over 100 participants, including all five bloc leaders of CAN and representatives from the 57 local government areas in Lagos State. The consensus was clear: testimonies that lack credibility, sound judgment, or could mislead the public are unacceptable. The association urged church leaders to pre-screen testimonies before allowing them to be shared publicly.

Adegbite emphasized that, while God still performs miracles, the testimonies presented must be truthful and not sensationalized.

Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, led by its General Overseer Pastor Lazarus Mouka, is headquartered in Lagos, though its founder hails from Imo State.
