In a heartwarming event, Chief Chukwuemeka Okwummo, a renowned herbalist and native doctor, attended a Thanksgiving service at St. Michael Catholic Church in Ozubulu, Anambra State. The community rejoiced as Chief Okwummo shared his miraculous recovery and newfound faith in Christianity.
Chief Okwummo expressed his gratitude to God for healing him from a life-threatening illness, which had left him unconscious and required hospitalization. He acknowledged the healing power of God and decided to turn away from idolatry and fetish practices, embracing the Christian faith while continuing his herbal and alternative medicine business without rituals.
The Vicar of Ozubulu Region, Very Rev Fr. Hygi Aghulor, shared his excitement about Chief Okwummo’s transformation. He acknowledged the native doctor’s previous healing abilities using roots and herbs but emphasized that Chief Okwummo had now recognized that true healing comes from God, not fetish practices.
