Hon. Kalu Mba Nwoke, the member representing Ohafia South in the Abia State House of Assembly, has called for massive support for the government of Governor Alex Otti of Abia State in its efforts to reposition the state.
This is even as the lawmaker also acknowledged that the outgone 2023 was a challenging one for the country in view of some policies of the government, however charging the citizens to hold their heads high.
In a press statement he personally signed to celebrate the new year, which was made available to the media, the state lawmaker said their prayers are with the governor in his task of governing the state. Hon. Nwoke said: “Ndi Abia, I extend warm wishes of a happy and prosperous New Year to all of you. May 2024 bring us joy, fulfilment, peace, security, and prosperity.
“Undoubtedly, 2023 was a challenging year. The harmonisation of the exchange rate and the increase in fuel prices caused the cost of basic necessities to skyrocket, making life for the common man miserable. “The security situation in our zone and other parts of the country continues to be a cause for concern. Fortunately, the 2023 elections ushered in a new government that has demonstrated a very strong commitment to the development of our dear state.
“We have observed and continue to observe progressive governance in several critical areas of development for which we are thankful. Our prayers and support are with the government of His Excellency Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR that they will stay the course and bring rapid development and prosperity to our state and its people.
“The expectations are high, and we pray that the requisite strength and wisdom needed to accomplish these tasks will not be lacking.
