HRM Emmanuel Efeizomor II, the immediate past Chairman of the Delta State Traditional Rulers Council and honoured Obi of Owa kingdom, has voiced grave concerns citing the practice of online scammers exhuming bodies from public cemeteries for ritualistic purposes.

In the course of an annual interactive meeting held at Owa-Oyibu Palace with members of the Owa Community, HRM Emmanuel Efeizomor II emphasised the pressing necessity of addressing the growing threat posed by these heinous acts.

He underlined that it has become perilous for people to break into public graves at strange hours in order to remove important organs from recently deceased people.

The vital organs of the dead are allegedly being illegally taken by people who go by the name “yahoo-boys” and are said to be involved in “get-rich-quick” schemes.

The king reaffirmed the community’s dedication to preserving the sacredness of the burial grounds and made it abundantly evident that the kingdom will not stand for such sacrilegious acts.

Emphasising the seriousness of these deeds, the king made it clear that such abhorrent conduct had to end right away.

HRM Emmanuel Efeizomor II issued a strong warning, stressing that anyone found carrying out these horrible deeds will suffer dire repercussions in accordance with the kingdom’s customs and traditions.
