Eucharia Okpalannadi, a 58-year-old mother, has appealed to authorities for assistance in seeking justice for her 3-year-old daughter, who was allegedly defiled by her father, Magnus Okpalannadi.
The mother also claims to have received threats to her life from her husband for exposing the suspected abuse.
The incident occurred in Onitsha, Anambra State, and the mother has reported the case to the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo.
The commissioner has assured that the state government will take action to apprehend the suspect and ensure justice is served.
The mother had initially dismissed her daughter’s complaints of sexual abuse but later sought medical attention after noticing signs of defilement.
The doctor confirmed that the child had been badly defiled.
The commissioner has warned against using the matter for financial gain and assured that the state government is providing support to the mother and child.
Efforts are underway to apprehend the fleeing father.
