In the spirit of Easter, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, the First Lady of Ebonyi State, showed her compassion by paying the medical bills of 12 indigent patients at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital Abakaliki.
Mrs. Nwifuru, who is the founder of Better Health for Rural Women, Children, and Internally Displaced Foundation (BERWO), made this generous donation to support those who couldn’t afford their medical expenses.
During her visit, she went to various wards, including Antenatal, neonatal, Paediatric Surgery, postnatal, and Children Emergency, where she even showered gift items on babies and mothers. Such a heartwarming gesture!
The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Prof Robinson Onoh, praised the governor’s wife for her dedication to the well-being of women and children in the state. He commended her for taking the initiative to cover the medical bills of these deserving patients.
Chief Mrs. Nwifuru also visited the St. Vincent the Paul old people’s home in Abakaliki to provide food and gift items for the Easter celebration. She encouraged them to keep praying for the state administration as they continue to take care of them.
