The Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State, has denied an online report claiming that some professors lecturing in the school.
Recalls that an online platform had published a report alleging that, no fewer than 100 professors in various Nigerian universities, including some from FUTA, were fake.
But, the Management of Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, through the Registrar, Mr Charles Adeleye, has denied the existence of fake professors, dismissing the report blasphemy.
Adeleye noted that none of the names listed as fake professors existed in FUTA.
The statement clarified that the names associated with FUTA in the list are entirely fictional and do not correspond to any individuals on the university’s staff roster.
The statement further stated that the names of all genuine staff members, including those in the professorial cadre, are officially documented in the university calendar.
Adeleye noted further that the names of all professors can be verified in the Order of Proceedings for the 33rd Convocation Ceremony, published in December 2023.
The controversial online report had listed nine names allegedly affiliated with FUTA, including Prof. Titi Adejumo, Prof Olumide Adebanjo, Prof. Ayodele Adewole, Prof Ayoade Adewumi, and Prof. Alaba Adewale.
The registrar solicits with the public to disregard the misleading publication, calling those disseminating it as purveyors of lies and falsehood.
